The WGES NOVA Awards Nominee Categories 


WGES NOVA AWARDS honors those who continue to make outstanding contributions to the awareness and implementation of new, clean and sustainable energy for a vital economy and healthier planet.  Use nominations forms for these esteem awards.  The winners will be selected by the WGES Global Awards Committee and will be announced at the WGES.   

  

 

  • Energy Leadership Award: For outstanding, sustained, and visionary leadership in advancing the green energy industry.
  • Technology Achievement Award: For developing and deploying a groundbreaking technology in renewable energy or efficiency.
  • Champion Award: For an advocate or policymaker instrumental in promoting supportive legislation and public awareness.
  • Future Leader Award: For a student or young professional demonstrating exceptional promise through research or advocacy.
  • Solar Innovation Award: For breakthroughs in photovoltaic cell efficiency, novel materials, or solar thermal systems.
  • Wind Energy Excellence Award: For innovations in turbine design, floating offshore platforms, or predictive maintenance.
  • Energy Storage Breakthrough Award: For advancements in battery chemistries, grid-scale storage, or thermal storage solutions.
  • Green Hydrogen Pioneer Award: For progress in electrolyzer efficiency, cost reduction, storage, or novel applications.
  • Smart Grid & Digitalization Award: For AI-driven grid optimization, demand-response systems, or IoT energy management.
  • Marine & Hydrokinetic Energy Award: For innovative technologies harnessing power from waves, tides, and currents.
  • Geothermal Innovation Award: For advancements in enhanced geothermal systems or low-temperature applications.
  • Grid Integration Solution Award: For technologies that enable seamless incorporation of variable renewables into the grid.
  • Sector Coupling Award: For projects integrating energy systems, like linking power to transportation via EV charging.
  • Circular Economy in Energy Award: For innovations in recycling critical minerals or sustainable lifecycle management.
  • Next-Generation Nuclear Award: For advancements in small modular reactors (SMRs) or fusion energy.

  • Project of the Year Award: For excellence in the execution and impact of a specific renewable energy installation.




Person of the Year / Business of the Year − to an individual and / or a business who has excelled by example in living the message of "The Power of New Energy" making a social, economic and environmental impact for the greater good of all mankind and our planet.
